For as long as I can remember, I have had a special connection with animals. As a young girl I was determined to rescue trapped frogs, feed homeless cats, and provide shelter for local wildlife. Having started my college career as a design major, I soon realized that I was meant to be an advocate for those who couldn’t advocate for themselves. I take pride in being a voice for those who can’t speak, knowing in my heart, I was always meant to be a veterinarian.
I grew up in Rochester, New York and received my Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Syracuse University. During my undergraduate years, I studied abroad in Italy and Australia, moving after graduation to New York City where I started a small animal caretaking business. After two years in Manhattan, I moved to Raleigh, where I received my doctorate of veterinary medicine from NC State (go Wolfpack). Since then, I have fallen in love with Raleigh and intend to stay in the triangle area even though I miss my family dearly in upstate New York.
I have quite a variety of interests that include playing golf, basketball, wakeboarding, gardening, practicing piano, and DIY projects for my home. My roommates include a Bengal kitty named Phoenix and an African Pygmy Hedgehog named Cheddar (because she’s sharp).
